oem prototyping & design
Using state of the art software we provide design solutions. Additionally we can provide samples for further evaluation. This can start as simply as the cocktail napkin that Randy Rhoads came into my office with decades ago or from partially created modern CAD files from almost any file source. Once there is agreement that we have captured the design intent we can create CAM data, tooling and fixturing, and sample parts. To be very clear the CAD portion is easily transportable as it represents the design intent only and that data is exportable in a wide variety of file formats. The CAM portion is not easily transportable for several reasons. First, the physical size and construction of our machine, a HAAS VF-4, will most likely not be physically similar to other machines. Second, the CAM portion is a branch of the process that is unique to the programmer who creates it. I like this set of tools and another programmer may prefer a different set. Additionally the method of holding the parts and the order of events can vary widely. Not suggesting that our process is better or worse than someone else just different and based on our years of experience.
